This is John Tabor with a message from my heart.
Never before is your vote for LIFE so important as this Nov. 4th - as those whose testimonies are exemplified by our lives we will be seen as false if we do not stand for the sanctity of human life.
I encourage you to embrace the preciousness of life as the very foundation for all we are and do. Everything that matters to us springs from this belief and reality. Choose LIFE this election-day.
John 10:10’s promise can only be realized if we receive it and live it. Let’s be life givers in all we do.
One of the most important ways we can do that on Nov 4th is to vote for LIFE.
Let people know that’s what you are doing and ask for their vote.
Deut 30:19-20 says: “This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him.”
Thanks and may God bless you mightily and give you much favor.

My conscience has been burdened to speak on this topic.... I've spent my career working in the field of social work, and primarily with women considering abortion, parenting, and adoption as options for an unplanned pregnancy. So pro-life issues are very close to my heart. I deeply believe that every baby ever conceived has been planned by God, despite sometimes less than ideal circumstances. He has a purpose and a plan for those lives, which I have loved to watch unfold in the families I've known personally.
AFTER MUCH READING... HERE ARE SOME OF MY FAVORITE ARTICLES: (If you ignore the rest of this, just look at these 1st three links - They summarize it all...)
A well done, thorough video summary of abortion issues in this election. http://johntabor.blogspot.com/2008/10/this-is-important-for-you-to-watch-and.html
“Why I can’t vote for Obama” by Huntley Brown http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/huntleybrown.asp
An excellent article, specifically confronting Christians/Catholics re: the priority they are/are not giving to abortion in this election.
http://www.citizenlink.org/content/A000008450.cfm
Very interesting (and sad) statistics on Catholic and Evangelical Christians' voting records and surveys re: this election.

A projection of where America could be in 2012. This author is not claiming to be a prophet, but feels what he writes is the logical progression from current events to where we could be as a nation in 4 years. I sure hope he's wrong... but they are, unfortunately possibilities.... (This is long, but worth reading. It's one of the most powerful things I've read that really got me praying.) http://focusfamaction.edgeboss.net/download/focusfamaction/pdfs/10-22-08_2012letter.pdf
While neither candidate is perfect (since they are human!), I am clear that I cannot vote for the one who has promised that the first thing he will do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. Have you heard of it? Americans United for Life – a non profit pro-life legal advocacy agency that my husband and I support, summarizes it as follows.
"The effect of this act would mean allowing abortion-on-demand in all nine months of pregnancy for any reason and without any restrictions nationwide. This would eradicate state and federal laws that the majority of Americans support -- such as requirements that licensed physicians perform abortions, fully-informed consent, and parental involvement -- and prevent states from enacting similar protective measures in the future."
For more on that, see their article at: http://www.aul.org/FOCA
and FightFOCA.com
and http://www.thecrisispregnancycenters.org/
And a U-Tube video allows us to watch Obama make the above statement. It is a montage of several statements made by Obama on the topic of abortion – the second of which refers to FOCA. I’m afraid that watching him speak in front of a “Planned Parenthood” backdrop to a cheering crowd is alone enough to ensure he would not receive my vote. That web address is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NN4TKrViNE&feature=related\
Another issue is Obama's opposition to the Born Alive Infant Protection Act (therefore supporting what is ultimately infanticide). Gianna Jessen, a woman who survived and was born alive after being burned in a saline abortion, takes Obama on in a commercial regarding his votes (multiple times over multiple years) against the Born Alive Infant
Protection Act. This site shows her commercial and an interview with Hannity and Colmes about the commercial and the issue. http://bornalivetruth.org/
Ironically, (the Federal law enacted on September 11, 2000) SB 1082 is in response to instances at CHRIST Hospital in Oak Lawn where abortions resulted in living infants who were then allowed to die without medical or comfort care. (Emphasis mine!) It is now a Federal Law, but was blocked by Obama from becoming Illinois law.
The site also does a great job documenting it's claims and provides scanned copies of Obama’s actual Illinois State Senate voting records on this issue; of Illinois State Senate transcripts of his statements; a comparison of the Illinois State bill language to the (previously passed) Federal language; a comparison of both to the World Health
Organization’s definition of a live birth; and more….http://bornalivetruth.org/obamarecord.aspx
Now I know Obama's response on this issue has been that he only voted against it b/c a law was already on the books that covered this issue, and that this bill was trying to restrict abortion rights. I don't see it as restricting abortion rights at all. In fact, the act states: ‘‘(c) Nothing in this section shall be construed to affirm, deny, expand, or contract any legal status or legal right applicable to any member of the species homo sapiens AT ANY POINT PRIOR TO BEING "BORN ALIVE" [Illinois: no quotes] as defined in this section.’’. (Again, my caps emphasis.) So this addresses born babies, and does not restrict abortion rights.
It was quite an experience for me to read the Illinois Senate transcripts of Obama's statements in both 2001 and 2002. http://www.ilga.gov/senate/transcripts/strans92/ST040402.pdf (pages 28-35 address Senate Bills 1661, 1662 and 1663)
http://www.ilga.gov/senate/transcripts/strans92/ST033001.pdf (pages 84-90 address Senate Bills 1093, 1094, 1095)
To summarize for you, his words (and his alone – no one else took the opportunity to comment on either occasion) made his position quite clear. His concern was that requiring a 2nd doctor to be called in to determine whether or not the born “fetus/child” was viable, would be compromising the doctor-patient (mother) relationship, and possibility subjecting the doctor to liability issues. He also felt that it is unnecessary to call a 2nd doctor in, b/c the 1st doctor could have made the determination just fine, and the 2nd is only questioning the ability of the 1st to do so. However, he does not acknowledge the issue of the vested interests (financial, statistical, political) of a doctor performing an abortion to complete that procedure. (But I suppose the interest of the 2nd doctor they call in such a setting would be “vested” and biased as well.) Obama’s statements in the Senate transcripts also did not voice any concern for the “fetus/child” who is born alive (in any such exceptional situation) – the very person who this legislation was designed to address.
An email from Dr. Dobson's Focus on the Family Action newsletter (10-21-08) included the following:
"...former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum published a scathing analysis of Senator Obama's pro-abortion record earlier this year. Here is an excerpt of what he wrote:
In March 2001, [Senator] Obama was the sole speaker in opposition to the bill on the floor of the Illinois Senate. He said: "We're saying they are persons entitled to the kinds of protections provided to a child, a 9-month child delivered to term. I mean, it would essentially bar abortions, because the equal protection clause does not allow somebody to kill a child."8 So according to [Senator] Obama, "they", (babies who survive abortions or any other preterm newborns,) should be permitted to be killed because giving legal protection to preterm newborns would have the effect of banning all abortions.9
"Planned Parenthood Admits Current Infanticide" Includes clips of Obama's voice in his IL State Senate testimony against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, and includes hidden camera of pregnant woman talking with a Planned Parenthood nurse about "what if" her baby was born alive.....

(And lots of other powerful information on this site.)
This is narrated by the male actor in the (pro-life) movie "Bella" from earlier this year. Warning - this is extremely graphic - horrifying, actually. (NOT FOR CHILDREN.) But maybe we need that sometimes to remember the horror of abortion and why fighting it needs to be a priority. http://www.obamamustsee.com/
Here is a website that lists the candidates’ votes on many different issues: http://www.ontheissues.org/senate/Barack_Obama.htm

I've also been bothered by the reports of Obama's 130+ votes of "present" instead of "yes" or "no" in the Illinois State Senate. One blog suggested this was "because he has spent more time campaigning for President than he has served during his first term as an United States Senator...." Giuliani said, Sept. 3: "....I didn't know about this vote 'present' when I was mayor of New York City. Sarah Palin didn't have this vote "present' when she was mayor or governor. You don't get 'present.' It doesn't work in an executive job. For president of the United States, it's not good enough to be present."
From the article: http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/how_many_times_did_obama_vote_present.html
The Illinois state Legislature allows members to vote "present" rather than "yes" or "no." The Times reported in December that "present" votes provide a way for lawmakers to voice opposition to an issue. Such votes can also help them avoid the political fall-out of voting "no": ....“If you are worried about your next election, the present vote gives you political cover,” said Kent D. Redfield, a professor of political studies at the University of Illinois at Springfield. “This is an option that does not exist [in] every state and reflects Illinois political culture.”
Looking into it further, I found information of how this was used in the realm of abortion.... From the article: http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2008/01/24/fact_check_obamas_present_votes/
Illinois legislators often vote "present" and for a wide variety of reasons. Sometimes blocs of lawmakers do it as a protest in some dispute over rules and procedures. Obama was often joined in his "present" votes by 10 or 20 other senators.... In other cases, lawmakers do it to signal objections to the details of a measure that they support in principle. They also use "present" votes as strategic moves to defeat legislation or, of course, simply to avoid taking a firm position........ Several (present votes) involve abortion -- a ban on certain late-pregnancy abortions, a requirement that a minor's parents be notified and restrictions on a type of abortion where the fetus sometimes survives for short periods....... the Illinois Planned Parenthood Council says Obama's "present" votes were actually part of a careful strategy to prevent those restrictions from passing.... President Pam Sutherland said the group feared several senators were going to vote "yes" on the legislation because of attacks from Republicans over their past opposition. Sutherland says she approached Obama and convinced him to vote "present" so that the wavering senators would do the same. For their purposes, a "present" was as good as an outright "no" because it kept the bills from reaching the majority needed to pass.
A recent McCain add addresses this issue:
McCain-Palin 2008 Launches New Web Ad: "Nothing New" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9z2Zq3bQfG8
ARLINGTON, VA -- Today, McCain-Palin 2008 released its latest web ad, entitled "Nothing New." The ad highlights Barack Obama's position of taking absolutely no position on the federal government bailout of AIG. At a time of economic crisis, the American people cannot afford a leader who merely votes present like Barack Obama did nearly 130 times in the Illinois State Legislature. NOTE: this link provides links documenting the specifics on Obama's votes on a list of several issues....
On another topic, there is a concerning lack of information/documentation about who Obama is, as stated below and at: http://lucianne.com/threads2.asp?artnum=428839
There are so many "loose ends" about this man (Obama). Only 143 days of active service in the Senate and he wants to be President

As a friend pointed out, he must have had to provide this kind of info to become a US Senator...... It's just bothersome to me that he's not allowing the American people to see some of it that pertains to his thinking on important issues (like #3, 7, 8, 11, 14 above).
And along those same lines: "Fox News contacted some 400 of his classmates and found no one who remembered him."
http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2008/09/obama_covers_his_tracks.html Obama hides his past. Most politicians campaign BASED UPON their past.
We could read and watch U-Tube videos about this endlessly.... Here's a few I've appreciated....

I've been told by some that it's "over the top" and divisive... For me, if was food for thought. Maybe some of it has been proven myth by now? Judge for yourself.

And AZ's PROP 102 ABOUT MARRIAGE http://www.yesformarriagetaf.com/
I apologize that this is so long! But I felt it is important and timely information that I was convicted to communicate. Maybe you know someone who is undecided how they'll vote and would be impacted by this information. Or maybe you are or you know someone (like me!) who just needs to be encouraged and affirmed in how they intend to vote. Or maybe you/someone you know needs to be reminded of the vital importance that we do go vote, despite any preliminary predictions of the outcome. Those predictions are coming to us largely through a very liberal media - a psychological battle in itself. While "other" media sources say this race is closer than major media is projecting. Our speaker at church today gave us stats on several elections in history won by only one vote... And Bush in 2000 by several hundred votes....
In God we (must) trust!

And, from my friend who is determined to focus on the positives of the campaign, here's some good stuff on Palin....
